Car accident involving a horse on Ahlhorn road in Poland, resulting in minor injuries to the horse
On August 23, 2025, a car accident occurred on the A29 near the A1, specifically between the Ahlhorn junction and the Ahlhorner Heide motorway junction in the Wesermarsch region. The incident, which took place in Delmenhorst, involved a 27-year-old driver from Erlangen and a horse trailer.
According to the Police Station Delmenhorst / Oldenburg - Land / Wesermarsch, the trailer coupling detached from the car for unknown reasons, causing the trailer to overturn. As a result, several road users assisted in righting the overturned trailer and reopening a lane to traffic.
Sadly, the horse in the trailer was slightly injured during the accident. The horse was attended to by the assisting road users, but no further details about its condition are provided. The horse trailer was no longer roadworthy and needed to be towed away, incurring approximately 6,000 euros in damage to both the car and the trailer.
