Car Accident: Two Suffered Injuries from Head-On Crash

On September 1, 2023, at 9:00 AM, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Hellweg in Hamm-Rhynern. The incident involved a Peugeot and a Ford, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

The Peugeot, driven by a 65-year-old man from Warstein, veered into the middle of the road, resulting in a head-on collision with the Ford driven by a 58-year-old woman from Hamm.

Both parties were injured in the accident. The Warstein driver was able to leave the hospital after outpatient treatment, but the woman from Hamm remains in the hospital for further treatment due to her severe injuries.

The Hellweg was closed between Dorchkamp and Wilhelm-Lange-Straße for the duration of the accident investigation. The property damage from the accident is estimated at approximately 28,000 euros.

The vehicles involved were so severely damaged that they had to be towed away. The mayor of Hamm, to whom the Hamm police station is subordinated, is Marc Herter.
