On August 31, 2025, a traffic accident occurred in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The incident took place on Schwarzmuhlenstraße, heading towards Höerdeweg, at approximately 6:20 AM.

The Gelsenkirchen Police are currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident. According to Annika Langner, a contact person for journalists at the Gelsenkirchen Police, the details of the incident are still under investigation.

The vehicle involved in the accident left the road just before a railway underpass and collided with a building. As a result, a 31-year-old resident of Gelsenkirchen was severely injured. The vehicle was subsequently impounded.

The Gelsenkirchen Fire Department assisted with on-site measures following the accident. The cause of the accident remains unknown at this stage, although the investigation is ongoing.
