Car Collision on the Highway
On August 30, 2025, the Fire Department Schwelm was alerted to a traffic accident on the A1 motorway in the direction of Hagen. The incident occurred at 14:04.
Upon arrival, volunteer personnel from the Linderhausen fire station and the city fire station were deployed. The Fire Department was present with a total of approximately 25 personnel and eight vehicles. The incident command, the full-time watch crew, and the emergency command service were also part of the response.
Upon arrival, the Fire Department found a damaged car lying on its side in the grass median. The two occupants of the car had already left the vehicle on their own before the Fire Department arrived. Any leaking fluids from the vehicle were absorbed by the Fire Department.
The Fire Department secured the vehicle against tipping and ensured fire protection at the scene. They also secured the area from traffic and disconnected the vehicle's battery for safety measures. The emergency services were treating the occupants at the time of the Fire Department's arrival, and the patients were later transported to nearby hospitals.
The Fire Department did not disclose the condition of the occupants or the extent of the damage to the vehicle.
