On the evening of September 1, 2025, a traffic accident occurred on Sprockhöveler Straße in Hattingen-Blankenstein. According to the Ennepe-Ruhr District Police Headquarters, the incident involved a BMW driven by an 18-year-old from Birkenfeld.

At approximately 21:35, the driver lost control of the vehicle in a left curve and collided with a tree, causing the car to overturn. As a result, the driver and two passengers sustained slight injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The Ennepe-Ruhr District Police Headquarters, located at Strückerberger Straße 32, 58256 Ennepetal, has taken up the investigation regarding the accident and the driver's license status. Further investigation has revealed suspicion that the driver did not have a valid driver's license.
