Cardi B acquitted of assault charges and financial responsibilities in a civil lawsuit involving a security officer

Cardi B has been acquitted in a civil assault trial brought by security guard Emani Ellis, who claimed the rapper hit her, scratched her face, and spat on her at a Beverly Hills medical office in 2018. The incident, which went viral online, saw Cardi B throw a pen at a man who asked a disrespectful question about her relationships outside the courtroom.

During the trial, Cardi B emphatically denied any physical confrontation, stating that she didn't touch Ellis and there was no assault. She emphasised the importance of respecting women and questioned why the man felt it was appropriate to ask her personal questions.

The jury came to a verdict in less than an hour of deliberation, finding Cardi B not liable in the case. Ellis, who is seeking damages for medical expenses, emotional and physical suffering, lost wages, and punitive damages, did not specify a total amount in the lawsuit.

Cardi B thanked her lawyers, the jury, and the judge in the case, and stated outside of the courtroom that she did not touch Ellis. She also asked her fans not to troll or attack Ellis online after the verdict.

Ellis, who plans on appealing the decision and going to law school for her future, stated that she still loves Cardi B, despite the incident. The man who was thrown the pen said, "I still love you even though you just threw some stuff at me."

Cardi B's behaviour outside the courtroom and her testimony on the witness stand went viral online, with many praising her for her composure and strength during the trial. The rapper also claimed that Ellis's claim of being sued for $24 million is false.

Throughout the trial, Cardi B made it clear that she would countersue the next time someone brings a "frivolous lawsuit" against her. She also emphasised the importance of respecting women and the consequences of disrespectful behaviour.

Despite the acquittal, the incident has left a lasting impact on both parties, with Ellis vowing to continue her legal pursuit and Cardi B urging her fans to show respect to all individuals, regardless of their actions.
