A 30-meter recreational vessel has sunk in the marina of Cascais, located in the district of Lisbon, Portugal. The incident occurred last night, and fortunately, the vessel was unoccupied at the time, resulting in no injuries.

The Maritime Police and the Judicial Police are now working together to investigate the cause of the sinking. The Central Unit for Criminal Investigation of the Maritime Police is leading the investigation.
The source of the fire that caused the sinking is currently unknown. However, the sinking did not pose a risk of pollution due to the presence of containment barriers. The Lifeboat Station crew and marina elements worked diligently to remove nearby vessels to prevent additional damage, although no further damage was recorded as a result.
The National Maritime Authority (AMN) is developing precautionary measures to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident. The AMN also confirmed that the vessel in question is a recreational vessel.

The specific name of the crew from the Lifeboat Station involved in the events at Cascais Marina is not available at this time; only that the crew from the Lifeboat Station, in coordination with marina staff, evacuated nearby boats during the incident.
The authorities assure the public that they are doing everything possible to determine the cause of the sinking and to ensure the safety of the marina and its vessels. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
