Celebrate joyfully: The Culture department reveals the theme for D'Art 2026 event
The city of Dormagen is gearing up for the 20th edition of the D'ART community exhibition, scheduled to open on November 20, 2026, in the glass gallery of the Kulturhaus Dormagen. This year's theme is "Happiness", and the exhibition promises to be a visual celebration of local artists' interpretations of this universal emotion.
Organised by Leopold Wolff from the municipal cultural office, the D'ART 2026 exhibition will feature artworks in various forms, including pictures, photos, collages, sculptures, and plastics, with a maximum width of 150 cm. Interested individuals who are at least 16 years old and live in the city area or are artistically active there can submit their artworks in the second half of October 2026.
The jury, consisting of Melanie Guthe, Martina Storm, and Holger Hagedorn, will decide which artworks will make it into the D'ART 2026 exhibition. The jury chairperson's name is currently unavailable. However, the organisation is supported by a team of volunteers, including Irmela Hauffe, Carolin Andritschke, Maja Wojdyla, and Ulrico Czysch.
In a unique twist, a minimum donation of five euros, instead of an official participation fee, for D'ART 2026 will be donated to the pedagogical day care centre in Nievenheim. The D'ART 2026 exhibition will also be available online, ensuring that art lovers from around the world can enjoy the exhibition.
Angelika Knauft and Reinhard Knauft will once again be the patrons for D'ART 2026. For any questions about D'ART 2026, the cultural office team can be contacted at the phone number 02133 257 4111 or via E-Mail: kulturbuero[@]stadt-unsere Website.
The D'ART 2026 exhibition will be on display at the Kulturhaus Dormagen from November 20, 2026, to March 17, 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to showcase their work and for the community to celebrate local talent and the theme of happiness. Don't miss out on this exciting event!
