On Sunday, September 7th, the Paderborn Fire Department invites the public to an open house at the South Fire and Rescue Station, located at Breslauer Straße 45. The event, which runs from 11 am to 6 pm, is a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the volunteer fire department in Paderborn.
Visitors will have the opportunity to witness exciting demonstrations and exercises showcasing the various deployment areas of the fire department. The junior and youth fire departments will also be present to discuss their work and the important role they play in the community.
In addition to the fire department demonstrations, the city's Ordnungsamt and water management department will provide information on disaster protection, emergency preparedness, flood risks, and flood protection. This is an excellent opportunity for residents to learn more about how they can prepare for emergencies and stay safe in times of crisis.
The open house will feature extensive information stands from the fire department, emergency services, and disaster protection. The fire department's music and marching bands will provide the right atmosphere, and the fire department's drinks and catering stand will ensure that visitors' physical well-being is well taken care of.
There will be interactive activities for all ages, including a colorful children's program with a bouncy castle, face painting, games, and interactive activities. Children can also have their teddy bears thoroughly examined at the St. Vincenz Hospital's teddy bear hospital on site.
Visitors can view the different fire department vehicles up close, including fire engines, ambulances, and rescue vehicles. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the equipment used by the fire department and the vital role it plays in keeping the community safe.
The Paderborn South Fire and Rescue Station was opened to the public for the first time on September 7th, and this open house is a chance for residents to tour the facility and meet the dedicated firefighters who work there.
