Celebrations begin for the 46th National Week of Reservists honored under the Flag Run banner

The Flag Run, an annual event that transcends the boundaries of a simple race, took place at Camp Basilio Navarro on August 30. Colonel Montano Almodovar read a message from Brigadier General Romulo Quemado, II during the flag run. He further stated that the flag run symbolizes the pursuit of peace, national pride, and solidarity as one Filipino nation.

Navy Captain Edwin Ello also underscored the symbolic and patriotic significance of the flag run. Ello emphasized that reservists are ambassadors of peace, discipline, and unity. He further stated that the flag run reflects the enduring readiness of reservists to serve and protect the country.

The event culminated in a program held at the Westmincom Gymnasium, where outstanding participants were honoured. The most coveted titles were the Sulu Strait Runner, Basilan Strait Runner, and Sibutu Strait Runner.

The successful observance of the Flag Run 2025 reinforced the commitment of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and its reservists to strengthening national defense and fostering camaraderie and pride among Filipinos.
