The Global Citizen Festival 2025 is set to return to New York City, with the event taking place on the Great Lawn of Central Park on Saturday, September 27. This annual festival, which has been held since 2012, has made a significant impact globally, raising billions in aid and political commitments towards ending extreme poverty and achieving sustainability goals.

For its 11th year, the festival will be hosted by Hugh Jackman, with Bill Nye, Adam Lambert, Danai Gurira, and Liza Koshy joining as co-hosts. The lineup for the 2025 festival includes The Weeknd, Shakira, Tyla, Ayra Starr, and Mariah the Scientist, with previous performers including Beyoncรฉ, Coldplay, Rihanna, and Billie Eilish.

In addition to the music, the festival also offers opportunities for volunteering. This year, the festival aims to register 40,000 New Yorkers for volunteering opportunities, focusing on areas like youth mentoring, curriculum preparation, and neighborhood revitalization.

The 2025 campaign focuses on three main goals: protecting the Amazon, supporting children's literacy, and increasing renewable energy in Africa. The festival is also committed to mobilizing $200 million to protect 30 million hectares of Amazon rainforest, providing access to energy for 1 million people across Africa, and providing quality education and football access to 30,000 children worldwide in partnership with FIFA.

The festival also supports nonprofit organizations in New York's five boroughs, with tickets to the festival being free but earned through promotional tasks on the Global Citizen app or website. Volunteering opportunities and speaking engagements will be provided by Kristen Bell, Tony Goldwyn, Laurie Hernandez, Nate Burleson, and Vladimir Duthiers.

The Global Citizen Festival is a global movement aimed at ending extreme poverty, combating climate change, and supporting sustainable development.
