Cerritos Volkswagen McKenna Kicks Off 'Eats of Cerritos' Food Drive and Instagram Competition in November
McKenna Volkswagen Cerritos, located at 18323 Studebaker Rd #5328, Cerritos, CA 90703, is hosting a charitable initiative called the "VW Eats" Food Drive and Instagram Contest from November 1 to November 22. This endeavour aims to support the Cypress College Food Pantry and is a collaboration with local restaurant partners and RDO Equipment Co.
The food drive will take place at the dealership, and donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off during their regular sales hours. Shane Ranger, General Manager of McKenna Volkswagen Cerritos, stated that the food pantry had to shut down for four months this year, and the food drive is to prevent this from happening again.
One lucky Instagram user will be chosen as the winner and will receive a basket filled with gift cards to local restaurants and Volkswagen swag. The winner will be announced on McKenna Volkswagen Cerritos's Instagram story and contacted via direct message on November 22.
Meanwhile, the Cerritos City Council has approved a proposal for McKenna Cerritos, LP, to expand the McKenna Volkswagen dealership at 18303 Studebaker Road. The expansion includes an addition of 2,033 square feet to the showroom and an interior and exterior remodel of the existing dealership.
Cerritos Councilmember Frank Aurelio Yokoyama announced various projects and improvements the City of Cerritos has continued with throughout the past two years, including the launch of a new online water billing portal.
In a separate initiative, the Cerritos Optimist Club, initiated by local community members, has launched a fundraising drive to help youth and families in need in the community. They plan to give $2,000 in Ralph's gift cards to four area churches. RDO Equipment Co. is also contributing resources and committing 32+ hours of community service to the Cypress College Food Pantry.
The food donations collected during the "VW Eats" Food Drive will be delivered to the Cypress College Food Pantry on November 22. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of local businesses and community members to support those in need during these challenging times.
