Change in leadership at Balingen: New Person Takes Over as Head

New Leadership at Balingen Tax Office

Susanne Karrais, a seasoned tax professional, has taken over as the new head of the Balingen Tax Office. Previously serving as the deputy head of the Rottweil Tax Office, Karrais returns to her roots, having started her career at the Finanzamt Balingen.

Karrais' first professional posting was at the Balingen Tax Office, where she honed her skills and built a strong foundation in tax administration. After her tenure at Balingen, she was appointed as the head of the Finanzamt Balingen, a position she held before her recent move to Rottweil.

The Balingen Tax Office, with its 283 dedicated staff members, serves a district home to around 200,000 residents. The district encompasses several cities, including Albstadt, Balingen, Burladingen, Haigerloch, Hechingen, Meßstetten, Rosenfeld, and Schömberg.

Albin Geiger, the previous head of the Balingen Tax Office, retired at the end of May after seven years of dedicated service. Under his leadership, the tax office managed a total revenue of approximately 1.28 billion euros in 2024.

Born in Horb, Karrais completed her law studies in Bremen and Heidelberg. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her new role, aiming to continue the high standards set by her predecessor.

As the new head of the Balingen Tax Office, Karrais is poised to lead with determination and expertise, ensuring the smooth operation of the office and the continued satisfaction of its clients.
