In the heart of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, the community came together on a Sunday evening at Clairton Park for a special event. The final Summer Concert Series was transformed into a heartwarming fundraiser, aimed at raising money for the victims of the recent explosion at the Clairton coke plant, owned by U.S. Steel.

The tragic event, which happened almost two weeks prior, had left many families in need of support. In response, local community leaders and volunteer organisations, including Diana Lattanzia-Bell and Emily Skalos, joined forces to cook meals for the affected families.

The event featured live music performances by Big West and Mighty Mystic, with Kevin from Mighty Mystic expressing his happiness to be a part of such a meaningful gathering. The performances were intended to send a message of healing and uplift the spirits of the community.

Amy Sowers, the owner of Bald Hippie Productions and Summer Concert Series organizer, stated that the community always comes together in times of tragedy. "It's heartwarming to see everyone here, supporting each other and helping those in need," she said.

The event also included raffles and auctions, with every dollar going directly to the local union to distribute to families affected by the explosion. Linda Pittman, the raffle organizer, mentioned that the community wanted to do something for the victims of the Clairton coke plant explosion and U.S. Steel.

Andy Gorstak, owner of Bald Hippie, emphasized the importance of helping the victims of the Clairton coke plant explosion. "We may not be able to fix everything, but we can certainly make a difference in the lives of these families," he said.

The cooking was not just for sustenance, but also intended to provide peace of mind for the families. The little baking with love added a touch of warmth and comfort to the evening. The goal of the event was to raise as much money as possible to help those in need, and the community's response was overwhelming.

The fundraising event was a testament to the power of community spirit and the desire to help those in need. It was a night filled with music, food, and a shared sense of purpose, reminding everyone that even in the face of tragedy, the community of Clairton stands strong.
