Chelsea manages to keep hold of Nkunku amidst Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig's pursuit, as the Italian giant AC Milan steps aside from the race for the talented midfielder.

In a significant move for AC Milan, the Italian giants have announced the signing of Christopher Nkunku on a five-year deal. The French international joins the club from Chelsea FC, marking his return to Italy after a brief spell with RB Leipzig.

The transfer fee for Nkunku is reportedly worth up to €42m (£36.2m), making him one of the most expensive signings of the Serie A season so far. AC Milan have also agreed to a sell-on clause, ensuring potential future profits if Nkunku continues to impress.

Nkunku's arrival at AC Milan comes after a challenging period at Chelsea, where he struggled to make a significant impact following his move from RB Leipzig in 2023. Despite this, he managed to score 18 goals in 62 appearances for the London club.

Interestingly, Nkunku chose AC Milan over Bayern Munich and Leipzig, who were also reportedly keen on his services. AC Milan were reportedly considering other options for their attack, such as Victor Boniface and Conrad Harder, but ultimately decided to pursue Nkunku.

Meanwhile, it appears that FC Bayern Munich will be reinforced by another player, with growing reports of a loan deal for Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea FC. The loan deal includes a purchase option that becomes mandatory after a certain number of appearances, with a loan fee of 16.5 million euros.

This development comes as AC Milan secured their first win of the Serie A campaign the day before announcing the signing of Nkunku. The new signing is expected to bolster their attack and contribute to a successful season for the Rossoneri.

Nkunku's signing follows a series of additions to the AC Milan squad, including Luka Modric, Samuele Ricci, Ardon Jashari, Pervis Estupinan, Koni De Winter, Zachary Athekame, and Pietro Terracciano. With Nkunku's arrival, AC Milan now have eight new signings in the transfer window.

As the transfer window draws to a close, the focus now shifts to the loan deal for Nicolas Jackson to Bayern Munich, which is expected to be finalised before the Monday deadline. The future of both clubs looks promising with these strategic signings.
