In the town of Soest, a 9-year-old cyclist was unfortunately involved in a traffic accident on a specified date and time. The incident occurred on the Oestinghauser StraรŸe, near a local bank branch where a 59-year-old woman from Lippetal was exiting a parking lot with her car.

According to a statement from the Circular Police Authority Soest, transmitted via news aktuell, the woman failed to notice the young cyclist riding on the wrong side of the road from the right. Tragically, she hit the cyclist with her car as he was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk of the Oestinghauser StraรŸe in the opposite direction of traffic.

The cyclist was slightly injured in the accident and was promptly taken to the nearest hospital by ambulance. The police remind all parents to explain the correct rules of the road to their children, emphasising that riding on a sidewalk or bike path is only permitted in the allowed direction.
