In the town of Soest, a 9-year-old cyclist was unfortunately involved in a traffic accident on a specified date and time. The incident occurred on the Oestinghauser Straße, near a local bank branch where a 59-year-old woman from Lippetal was exiting a parking lot with her car.

Tragically, she hit the cyclist with her car as he was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk of the Oestinghauser Straße in the opposite direction of traffic.

The cyclist was slightly injured in the accident and was promptly taken to the nearest hospital by ambulance. The police remind all parents to explain the correct rules of the road to their children, emphasising that riding on a sidewalk or bike path is only permitted in the allowed direction.
