Leapmotor Expands Presence in Europe with C10 SUV and T03 City Coupe

Leapmotor, the Chinese automotive brand, is making waves in the European market with its latest offerings - the C10 SUV and T03 city coupe.

Founded in 2015 in Hangzhou, Leapmotor made its mark with the 2019 Leapmotor S01 as its first model. Now, the brand is planning to release a C-segment SUV, the B10, followed by two hatchbacks and another small SUV.

The Leapmotor C10, currently available in the UK, is a premium contemporary SUV that boasts a 69.9kWh battery, offering a theoretical range of 263 miles. Priced at £36,500, it positions itself in the D-segment of the market, positioning itself as a competitive option for those seeking an electric vehicle with a long range.

The C10's interior is minimalistic, taking inspiration from Tesla's button-less design, and features a dual-screen infotainment and instrument cluster. The 14.6-inch touch-screen display houses tiny font size and icons, and the vehicle is equipped with ADAS driven by 12 sensors, a panoramic sunroof, fast charging, heated and ventilated front seats, and more.

The Leapmotor T03, priced under £16,000, is an A-segment city car that produces the equivalent of 95hp and has a range of 165 miles. Built in a Stellantis plant in Poland, the T03 is now available in the UK.

Stellantis, an automotive 'house of brands', owns 20% of Leapmotor and has the rights to sell Leapmotor cars outside of China. The strategic partnership between the two companies enables Leapmotor to enter the European market with affordable electric models in the competitive C-segment. In return, Stellantis benefits by expanding its electric vehicle portfolio without full development costs.

The Leapmotor C10 and T03 come in a single specification, a decision that is uncommon in a world of expensive consumer upgrades and personalization. This approach is part of Stellantis's strategy to make Leapmotor the go-to name in value motoring.

The Chinese auto industry, including companies like Leapmotor, is causing industrial and governmental panic in Western markets due to its cost-effectiveness and competitive advantages. The Leapmotor C10, for example, has received a French design award, demonstrating the brand's commitment to quality and innovation.

In conclusion, Leapmotor is making a strong entrance into the European market with its affordable electric vehicles that offer high specifications. With the support of Stellantis, the brand is poised to become a major player in the industry.
