Montage Technology Unveils Jintide C6P Server Processors

Montage Technology has made a significant stride in the tech industry with the launch of its new Jintide C6P series of server processors. These chips, designed explicitly for the Chinese market, are based on Intel's Granite Rapids platform and are equivalent to Intel's 6th Generation Xeon Scalable chips, later rebranded as Xeon 6.

The Jintide C6P processors boast impressive specifications, with up to 86 cores and 172 threads, offering a substantial boost in processing power. They also come with a generous 336MB of L3 cache, ensuring smooth and efficient performance.

The Jintide C6P processors are not just about raw power, though. They are also packed with specific data encryption and decryption algorithms, making them ideal for government and enterprise use. This added security feature is a testament to Montage Technology's commitment to protecting sensitive data.

One of the standout features of the Jintide C6P processors is their CXL 2.0 support, which allows for faster communication between different components in a system. They also offer 2S scalability, enabling systems to handle more demanding workloads.

The Jintide C6P processors also support eight-channel DDR6-6400 RDIMM and DDR5-8000 MDRIMM, providing ample memory bandwidth. Additionally, they feature 88 high-speed PCIe 5.0 lanes, ensuring rapid data transfer rates.

The Jintide C6P processors are priced competitively, retailing for around $10,400 in the U.S. market. This price point makes them an attractive option for businesses in sectors such as healthcare, finance, and government, where high-performance computing is crucial.

Montage Technology's journey to the Jintide C6P series began in 2016 with a deal with Intel to reconfigure Intel's Xeon processors with added Chinese-specific security features. Since then, the company has progressed through five generations, with the Jintide C6P series marking the sixth-generation Jintide platform.

The exact specifications of the Intel Xeon 6900 series rebranded by Montage Technology in China have not been officially released by Montage, but they are based on Intel's Granite Rapids-AP silicon, supporting features like 2-socket scalability, eight-channel DDR6-6400 RDIMM, DDR5-8000 MDRIMM, 88 PCIe 5.0 lanes, and CXL 2.0.

The Jintide C6P processors are a significant step forward in high-performance computing for the Chinese market. With their powerful processing capabilities, added security features, and competitive pricing, they are poised to make a significant impact in various sectors.
