Headline: Historic Meeting in Beijing: Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un Gather for Military Parade

On Wednesday, the leaders of China, Russia, and North Korea gathered in Beijing for a historic meeting and military parade, marking a significant moment in international diplomacy.

China's President Xi Jinping hosted Russia's Vladimir Putin at the Great Hall of the People and his personal residence in Beijing. North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un arrived in Beijing on a train, as confirmed by Reuters and North Korean state media. The visit of Kim and his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, was greeted by senior Chinese officials including Cai Qi and Wang Yi.

This meeting comes at a time when U.S. President Donald Trump's "America First" policies are straining Western alliances. The gathering is seen as a potential blow to Trump, who has touted his close relations with all three leaders.

Kim Jong Un's daughter, Kim Ju Ae, made her international debut by participating in the negotiations, marking the largest multilateral diplomatic event Kim Jong Un has ever attended. The potential for closer defense relations among China, Russia, and North Korea following a pact signed in June 2024 is a concern for the West.

In addition to the political discussions, the Beijing military parade will showcase the military might of the three nations. Authorities plan to release more than 80,000 "peace doves" during the parade.

The meeting also provides an opportunity for Xi and Putin to strengthen their bond. During their meeting, Xi referred to Putin as his "old friend."

Meanwhile, the leaders' meeting is not without controversy. Kim Jong Un has supplied more than 15,000 troops to support Putin's war in Ukraine, a move that has raised concerns in the West.

Russia's Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation also signed a deal to increase gas supplies and agreed on a new pipeline that could supply China for 30 years.

Putin criticized the eastward expansion of NATO at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Tianjin, further highlighting the geopolitical tensions at play.

South Korea's intelligence agency believes Pyongyang is planning another deployment. There is speculation about the potential for trilateral military exercises between Russia, China, and North Korea, which could further escalate tensions in the region.

As the world watches, the Beijing military parade and the leaders' meeting promise to shape the future of international relations.
