Chinese inventor Leawat showcases groundbreaking tab-less design for 46-Series large cylindrical batteries at The Battery Show Europe 2025, leaving fellow innovators in awe.

In the heart of Stuttgart, at The Battery Show Europe 2025, Chinese innovator Leawat-Power Technologies Co., Ltd. made a significant impact with its patented tab-less design for 46-series large cylindrical batteries.

The company, known for its focus on innovation, safety, and scalability, showcased its groundbreaking technology that promises to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the lithium battery industry.

The first phase of Leawat's project, boasting a 4GWh capacity, has already achieved strong market response in China. The company is now running a 25GWh large cylindrical battery project, supported by a 180PPM high-speed production line, the fastest of its kind in China. Leawat aims to achieve full 25GWh capacity by 2027, with an ambitious target of annual sales exceeding ¥15 billion ($2.1 billion) by the same year.

Leawat's 46-series batteries are renowned for their "Four High" characteristics: high energy density, high power output, high safety assurance, and high environmental adaptability. The unique "One-Unit stacking integration" design results in a 5% improvement in system-level energy density, while the tab-less design reduces internal resistance by 20%, enabling ultra-fast charging ability. High power output supports ultra-high discharge rates of up to 50C, making them suitable for high-demand applications.

The batteries also feature a thermal-electrical decoupling system with a bottom-mounted single-side exhaust valve for efficient heat dissipation. This, combined with self-developed thermal equilibrium technology, allows the batteries to operate within a wide temperature range of -40°C to 60°C.

The tab-less design also significantly increases the cell cycle life to 8000+ and reduces the risk of foreign matter intrusion by 75%, ensuring high safety assurance.

Leawat's products have attracted significant attention from European automakers, energy storage companies, and technology innovators. The company is ready to supply standardized cylindrical cells and customized system solutions for multiple sectors, including electric vehicles, drones, industrial robots, and more.

In his statement, Mr. Feng Zihao, Vice General Manager of Leawat, emphasized the company's goal to collaborate with global partners to accelerate the transition to clean energy. He expressed Leawat's readiness to contribute to a sustainable future and shape the future of the lithium battery industry.

The Battery Show Europe 2025 also saw the presentation of a novel design for large-format 46-series cylindrical voltage storage systems by the company Webasto, meeting international safety standards such as IEC62619. This further underscores the growing importance of Leawat's innovative technology in the global battery industry.
