Dreame Auto Enters the Automotive Industry with Ambitious Plans

Dreame Technology, a Chinese company known for its electric home appliances like vacuum cleaners, is making waves in the automotive industry. The company has announced its plans to enter the market, with a focus on creating an ultra-luxury electric car brand in Germany.

Starting from 2026, Dreame Auto will begin production of its first car, an "ultra-luxury pure-electric product" scheduled for debut in 2027. The new vehicle is positioned to compete with hypercars like the Bugatti Chiron, aiming to redefine road car performance and challenge established brands such as Ferrari, McLaren, and Bugatti.

At the heart of Dreame's new car will be its proprietary high-speed electric motor technology, developed for consumer devices. The motors are designed to operate at more than 200,000rpm, a capability that the company believes will be beneficial for high-power motor performance at the hypercar level.

The automotive division of Dreame Technology has already assembled a workforce of nearly 1000 employees, combining R&D personnel from the consumer electronics business with those from the automotive manufacturing sector.

Dreame's technological capabilities extend beyond motor technology. The company has commercialized vision recognition systems, AI-based path planning, and spatial modelling, all developed for its robot vacuums.

The founder and CEO of Dreame, Yu Hao, believes that the company's fearlessness will birth great dreams. In an internal letter, he stated, "Our dream is to create the fastest car in the world."

Rumours suggest that Dreame Auto is considering establishing a manufacturing facility near Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory. If confirmed, Dreame Auto would be the first Chinese car brand to establish production activities in Germany. Financing for the new division will be handled by French banking giant BNP Paribas.

Dreame has a significant existing global presence, selling products at over 6000 retail sites in more than 100 countries. The company's move into the automotive industry follows the announcement at the end of August about its plans to enter this new sector.

Skyworth, a Chinese tech company, has also entered the EV market, following in the footsteps of Xiaomi, Huawei, Roborock, and Baidu. The entry of these tech giants into the automotive industry is expected to bring about significant changes and innovation in the sector.

As Dreame Auto prepares to unveil its first car, the world watches with anticipation, eager to see what this new player in the automotive industry will bring to the table. With its ambitious plans and cutting-edge technology, Dreame Auto is set to make a mark in the world of luxury electric cars.
