Citizens Express Concern Over Bridge Integrity and Compensation Matters

In the aftermath of the torrential downpours on 3 August 2025, which caused significant damage in the Tuapse district, Krasnodar Region, Minister for Civil Defence and Emergency Situations, Sergei Shtrikov, conducted inspections in the affected villages of Moldovanovka and Lermontovo.

During his visit, Minister Shtrikov spoke with the residents of both villages, addressing their concerns about the recovery efforts. One of the primary issues raised was the timeline for building a new crossing over the Shapsukho River in Lermontovo.

To address this concern, the municipality has already prepared project documentation for the new crossing and is currently finalising cost estimates. A contractor is soon to be appointed for the construction of the "Lermontovo Shapsukho Bridge 2025," as the contract dated September 2, 2025, has been named.

In the meantime, a boat crossing in Lermontovo, organised by Kuban-SPAS, is operational, ensuring access to the other bank while the new bridge is being constructed.

The villages of Moldovanovka and Lermontovo were not so fortunate, as their road bridges were washed away due to the flooding. However, Moldovanovka does have a temporary crossing available for both drivers and pedestrians.

Residents of both villages have also raised questions about the timing of compensation payments. The inspections conducted by Minister Shtrikov aimed to provide clarity and reassurance regarding the recovery process and the support the government is providing to the affected communities.

As the recovery efforts continue, the people of Moldovanovka and Lermontovo can look forward to the construction of a new permanent bridge in Lermontovo, bringing much-needed relief and restored access to their communities.
