CiTTi Awards 2025: What Insights Can the Industry Glean from Your Achievements?

Grahame Bygrave, the deputy chair of the Transport & Connectivity Board at ADEPT and lead director of infrastructure at Norfolk County Council, has taken the helm as a judge for the upcoming CiTTi Awards 2025. With a focus on accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability in transport networks, Bygrave is eager to receive submissions showcasing progress in clean transport technology.

Bygrave has made significant strides in enhancing public transport accessibility, implementing smart traffic management systems, and promoting sustainable transport options such as cycling infrastructure and electric vehicle charging networks within Norfolk County Council. His leadership has also led to the delivery of new micromobility services and the introduction of a large fleet of zero-emission buses.

Bygrave is a chartered civil engineer and chartered manager, and his expertise extends to championing the use of technology and data in transport. He has deployed Internet of Things sensors, intelligent traffic systems, and cutting-edge AI to make the network more efficient. Bygrave is particularly excited about data-driven mobility, shared and active travel solutions, and decarbonisation of transport networks.

The deadline for submitting written entries for the CiTTi Awards is Friday, 22 August 2025. Bygrave advises companies and organizations to focus on the real-world impact of their projects when entering the awards. He looks forward to learning about innovations delivering real benefits to residents and businesses, and anticipates entries leveraging data platforms and predictive analytics to optimise urban mobility.

Overseeing one of the largest local authority transport networks in the United Kingdom, Bygrave believes industry recognition through awards like CiTTi drives progress by validating risks and efforts. The fourth annual CiTTi Awards will take place on 25 November 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

Bygrave cites Norwich's micromobility scheme with Beryl as an example of an innovation significantly impacting urban mobility. He encourages submissions featuring innovation around micromobility and Mobility-as-a-Service, and expects these areas to feature strongly in the entries.

With the CiTTi Awards 2025 just around the corner, Bygrave is ready to witness the future of transport technology unfold and celebrate the industry's pioneers.
