Moscow is gearing up for a thorough clean ahead of City Day, with the city's housing and communal services complex leading the charge. Nearly 500 employees and 113 units of machinery will be involved in the cleaning process, overseen by Deputy Mayor Petr Biryukov.

The cleaning process consists of two stages: first, the application of a special, safe, biodegradable cleaning agent, and second, rinsing with regular water. This cleaning agent is designed to help remove oil, grease stains, and other types of dirt, ensuring the city's roads and sidewalks are spotless.

In addition to the cleaning of roads and sidewalks, approximately 2,000 engineering structures in Moscow will also receive a spring clean. Specialists will meticulously clean bridges, tunnels, underground and overground pedestrian crossings, embankments, piers, fountains, and monuments. Manual cleaning will be employed in areas inaccessible to machinery to ensure a thorough clean.

The shampoo used for the roads and sidewalks is alkali and acid-free, ensuring it is safe for the environment. The cleaning agent used for engineering structures, however, is not specified in the article.

The cleaning events are traditionally held in spring and autumn, but the exact date for City Day is not specified. The press service of the city's housing and communal services complex reported the news, confirming Moscow's readiness to shine for City Day.
