Citywide Collaboration - The Summer Initiative of Urban Promotion for Our City

Get ready for an exciting summer in our city centre! From July 10 to August 14, 2025, the "Ab in die Mitte" project, A City for All, will be transforming our city.

The initiative kicks off on July 10 with an open-air cinema around art & recycling, interactive activities, and visitors encouraged to bring their favourite old pieces to be redesigned. On the same day, a transformed old car will also be showcased as a work of art.

On July 19, 2025, a shared potluck will take place on the market square, inviting everyone to bring something delicious for a community meal. This event aims to bring the community closer together.

From July 24 to August 14, the market square will become a large movement and participation area for various sports and games.

The first part of the festivities, "CITYplays", will take place on August 7, 2025, from 17:00 to 20:00. This event will be divided into two parts: children and family games from 17:00, and games for teens and adults from 18:30. Holzspiel Event will provide large wooden games for this event, while catering will be provided by Osteria reBelot.

On August 14, 2025, from 17:00 to 21:00, the "CITYdances" event will take place. This event will feature Salsa dancing, a dance workshop, and renowned DJs SINCO and ZDEE, with Marcel Werner from Hotel Scirocco also joining the lineup. Hotel Scirocco will be the project partner for "CITYdances" and will provide cocktails and Paella for the event.

The first our city sing-along concert will take place on July 31, 2025, featuring the original band "Desperado Four".

A small, green oasis will be created with the acquisition of mobile trees, and a wooden hut will be placed in the market square for catering and storage purposes.

The "Ab in die Mitte" project aims to provide a reason to visit the city centre every week during the summer holidays, bringing together citizens, artists, and the city of our city in a celebration of community and creativity.
