Climate Change Adaptation Week Unfolds
The Climate Adaptation Week (CAW) is set to take place from September 15th to 19th across Germany, with a focus on events in the city of Aschaffenburg. Organized by the Center for Climate Adaptation and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety, and Consumer Protection (BMUV), the city of Aschaffenburg is participating as a partner of the CAW.
During this week, residents and visitors alike can participate in a variety of events aimed at promoting climate adaptation and sustainability. One such event is the Wandering Trees, a free guided tour with no registration required. The meeting point for the tour is at Seestraße 2 in Damm, and the destination is Mittelstr. 40. The Wandering Trees are wooden seating modules with a tree in the middle and mobile plant boxes, providing a unique and eco-friendly seating solution.
On Tuesday, September 16th, there will be a digital lecture titled "Putting Climate and Health in the Spotlight!" from 5 - 6 PM. The lecture will be a hybrid event, taking place both in-person and online, and registration is required by September 16th at this link. The lecture will be given by Daniel Nuding (B.A. Health and Fitness Management, M.A. Sports Sciences), Team Gesundheit GmbH, and will discuss the latest developments in construction and vegetation technology for roof and facade greening.
On Wednesday, September 17th, there will be a climate tour through the city center of Aschaffenburg from 5 - 6:30 PM. The tour will be led by Antonia Pfeiffer, the Climate Adaptation Manager of the city of Aschaffenburg. Registration for the tour is required by September 17th at this link.
