Climate Protection Offered in Abundance on Environment Day

Join us for an exciting day dedicated to the environment as we host Environmental Day in Garbsen! Mayor Claudio Provenzano has extended a warm invitation to everyone to participate in this event.

The festivities will take place at the town hall from 13:00 to 17:00 on September 20th. A variety of activities are planned, including a two-hour walk & talk titled "On the trail of fair trade coffee" before the start of the day.

Small surprises, such as an environmental rally and a lucky wheel, will add to the fun. For the younger attendees, face painting is available, free of charge.

Over 30 organizations will be represented at the environmental festival, including BUND of the region Hannover, ADFC Garbsen/Seelze, the water association Garbsen - Neustadt, enercity, the network of the food council Hannover and region e.V., the Climate Protection Agency of the region Hannover, the steering group Fairtrade, and the Catholic community of St. Raphael.

Regional clubs, companies, and initiatives will present projects on environmental, climate, and nature protection.

A highlight of the day will be the virtual reality 3D experience about climate change, offered free of charge.

Participants in the large waste collection action on September 20th, World Cleanup Day, will have a chance to win prizes worth up to 100 euros in a draw during the Environmental Day. To enter the draw, one must collect more than two kilograms or at least half a sack of waste. Action sacks and disposable gloves can be picked up from September 1st at the city library or the service team of the city at the cemetery.

The Heidemost cider mill offers apple and pear juice making appointments from late August. More information can be found at www.heidemost.de/termine-und-standorte/.

Admission to the Environmental Day is free, making it an event not to be missed! We look forward to seeing you there.
