Climate Protection Week scheduled from 14th to 22nd of July, under the Pforzheimer

The city of Pforzheim is once again gearing up for its annual Climate Protection Week, running from July 14 to 22 for the eighth time. This year's event promises a variety of engaging activities and informative sessions, all aimed at advancing climate protection in the city.

Mayor Sibylle Schüssler has emphasized the importance of the week, stating that the negative effects of climate change are already noticeable in Pforzheim. The events throughout the week are focused on climate protection and the consequences of climate change.

Jürgen Baumüller, a renowned climate scientist, will give the main lecture on the topic "Urban Climate - Pforzheim in Climate Change". His talk will highlight the climate changes that have already occurred in Pforzheim.

The main speaker of the keynote lecture on climate protection during the Pforzheim Climate Protection Week 2023 was Dr. Matthias Sauerbruch.

Apart from the lectures, the week will feature numerous actions and events for interested citizens. Topics such as energy saving, climate-friendly cooking, environmentally friendly mobility, and renewable energy will be addressed in some interactive actions. Citizens are invited to take advantage of the information and actions during the week.

For the first time this year, "alternative city tours" will take place in Pforzheim, showcasing new initiatives and action variants in responsible business and coexistence.

Various local actors are participating in the Pforzheim Climate Protection Week to present the diversity of climate protection. The Environmental Protection Office is among them, providing information about cycling in Pforzheim.
