Collaboration among multiple authorities for extensive inspections in Heiligenhaus - May 25, 2021
In a joint operation on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the Mettmann District Police, along with several other agencies, carried out the "zOOm" project in a high-rise complex in Heiligenhaus. The project, named after the zoom function of a camera, aims to uncover potential benefit fraud, ensure legal certainty, and contribute to improving local living conditions.
Despite complex framework conditions, the operation went smoothly, with all participating agencies working together seamlessly. During the action, the forces controlled approximately 50 residential units housing around 130 residents, starting shortly after 6:00 AM.
As a result of the inspection of registration data and identification documents, a total of 17 violations of registration regulations were detected. Furthermore, several relevant cases were identified by the family cash office, requiring further investigation. One case of suspected illegal residence was also detected, which will be handled by the immigration office of Mettmann district.
The "zOOm" project demonstrates the necessity and efficiency of inter-municipal and inter-agency cooperation.
