Collision between vehicle and truck
On Tuesday, August 26th, a collision occurred on federal road 265 near Schleiden-Gemünd. The incident involved a 73-year-old motorcyclist from Belgium and a 30-year-old car driver, whose location was not specified.
The motorcyclist was traveling downhill from Schleiden-Wolfgarten towards Schleiden-Gemünd when, during a right curve, he entered the opposite lane, leading to a collision with the oncoming car driver from Schleiden.
The collision occurred at 2 PM and resulted in the motorcyclist suffering life-threatening injuries. The car driver, fortunately, was not injured.
In the aftermath of the collision, the federal road 265 was closed for the duration of the accident report, from 2 PM to 10:21 PM.
The 73-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital by a rescue helicopter. His name was not disclosed in the reports.
The accident report was taken by the traffic accident response team of the Euskirchen police. The collision occurred in the curve section of the federal road 265.
The motorcyclist, after the collision, fell onto the road. Despite the severe injuries, the emergency services were able to quickly respond and provide necessary medical attention.
