On August 26th, a collision occurred between a 73-year-old motorcyclist and a 30-year-old car driver on the federal road B265 near Schleiden-Gemünd. The incident took place around 2 PM and caused a significant disruption.

The motorcyclist was traveling downhill from Schleiden-Wolfgarten towards Schleiden-Gemünd when, in a right curve, the bike drifted into the oncoming lane. Unfortunately, this led to a collision with the oncoming car driven by a local resident from Schleiden.

The impact of the collision caused the motorcyclist to fall onto the road. The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was immediately airlifted to a hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite the gravity of the situation, the car driver involved in the collision emerged unscathed.

The police from Euskirchen took the accident report, but the search results do not provide the name of the police station chief who created the report. The B265 was closed for the accident investigation until 22:21, causing a significant delay for other road users.

The collision occurred in the curve section of the B265, a fact that underscores the importance of cautious driving, especially on winding roads. Our thoughts are with the injured motorcyclist and their family during this difficult time.
