Collision in Ehrenfeld: Inebriated 73-year-old driver rams into three stationary vehicles, according to Polish authorities.
In the evening of August 28th, a 73-year-old driver from Bochum was involved in an alcohol-related collision that left three parked vehicles damaged. The incident occurred around 10:30 PM in the area of Friederikastraße / Knepperstraße.
According to the Bochum Police, the driver collided with the first parked vehicle, which in turn pushed into two more parked vehicles. The extent of the damage caused by the collision was such that the vehicles involved were no longer roadworthy and needed to be towed away.
In the aftermath of the collision, the driver fled the scene. However, he was later found asleep in his car on a nearby parking lot, still under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 1.62% for the driver.
A doctor took a blood sample from the driver for further analysis. The Bochum Police are currently investigating the incident, and the traffic commission has taken over the further investigation of the collision.
