On August 30, 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred on the A36 motorway towards Braunschweig between the junctions Wolfenbuettel-Nord and Braunschweig-Stoeckheim. The incident involved a motorcyclist from Braunschweig and a car driver from Wolfenbuettel.

The motorcyclist, aged 27, was seriously injured in the accident. After receiving first aid on site, he was taken to a hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, the car driver, aged 28, was unharmed.

The motorway was temporarily blocked for approximately 1.5 hours due to the accident. The total damage caused by the incident is estimated to be around 12,000 euros.

The police department responsible for investigating the accident is yet to be specified, although it is likely to be the local police authority or the police responsible for that highway section. An expert has been commissioned to clarify the cause of the accident.

In a tragic turn of events, the motorcyclist was thrown against a guardrail following the collision. However, the latest updates indicate that his condition has improved, and there is no longer any danger to his life.
