Collision on A29 leaves four individuals harmed
On Saturday afternoon, a multiple-vehicle collision occurred on the Autobahn 29 near Oldenburg, Germany. The incident involved four vehicles and resulted in injuries for several individuals.
The collision took place on the Hunte bridge, a construction site on the busy highway. According to police reports, the incident was due to "extremely heavy traffic" on the Autobahn 29.
The chain reaction began when a driver of a small truck failed to notice the stopped traffic. The truck collided with a car, causing a rear-end collision. The car of the 60-year-old was pushed into the car of a 56-year-old.
Three of the involved cars had to be towed away, and the lanes in the direction of Wilhelmshaven and Osnabrück were temporarily completely closed.
The driver of the small truck and his 22-year-old passenger, as well as the 56-year-old and his companion of the same age, sustained minor injuries.
An investigation into the driver at fault has been initiated for reckless endangerment. The driver of the small van from Berlin took responsibility for the careless driving that caused the collision. A legal investigation was initiated against him for negligent injury.
Police are reminding drivers to pay close attention to the road, especially in heavy traffic conditions, to avoid such incidents in the future.
