Collision on road results in six injuries and destruction of three vehicles

A serious traffic accident occurred in Westend, Berlin, yesterday afternoon, resulting in multiple injuries and the closure of a major road for several hours.

The incident happened around 5:40 PM on Badenallee, where a collision involving a Hyundai and a BMW took place. According to reports, the Hyundai was attempting to turn left onto Heerstraße when it collided with the oncoming BMW. The impact of the collision caused the BMW to veer into oncoming traffic and collide with a Renault.

The drivers of both the BMW and Renault were taken to hospitals. The Renault driver was found to have fractures, while the BMW driver and her 17-year-old passenger were also hospitalized. Fortunately, the 32-year-old pregnant passenger in the Renault was deemed out of danger. The 85-year-old passenger in the Hyundai and the 33-year-old driver of the Renault remain hospitalized. The Hyundai driver and his 85-year-old passenger were airlifted to a hospital with injuries.

The engines of both the BMW and Renault caught fire following the collision. An employee of the Central Object Protection of the Berlin Police was quick to respond, extinguishing the fires and providing first aid. The Heerstraße was closed from 5:45 PM to 11:50 PM for rescue operations, accident recording, and cleanup. Further investigations into the cause of the accident have been taken over by a specialized traffic crime unit of Police Directorate 2 (West).
