Collision on the road involving six injured individuals and three cars sustaining damage

Yesterday afternoon, a significant traffic accident occurred in Westend, resulting in the closure of a major road for several hours. The accident involved a Hyundai and a BMW.

According to the police, the Hyundai was driven by an 85-year-old individual, while the BMW was driven by a 20-year-old. The impact of the collision caused the BMW to veer into oncoming traffic and collide with a Renault.

The Renault, a 2015 model, was occupied by a 33-year-old driver and a 32-year-old pregnant passenger. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old driver suffered fractures in one hand and one leg and was taken to a clinic for further treatment. Thankfully, the pregnant passenger was unharmed in the accident. The driver was later released from the clinic after receiving treatment for his injuries.

The 32-year-old pregnant passenger in the Renault was unharmed in the accident. The 17-year-old passenger in the BMW was treated for shock and released from the hospital. The Hyundai driver and his 85-year-old passenger were airlifted to a hospital with upper body injuries for the driver and head injuries for the passenger.

The engines of the BMW and Renault caught fire following the collision. An employee of the Central Object Protection of the Berlin Police, identified as Officer Schmidt, extinguished the fires using a fire extinguisher. The Hyundai and BMW were both extensively damaged in the initial collision, with the Renault colliding with a tree after being hit by the BMW, causing significant damage.

The special investigation team of Police Directorate 2 dealing with yesterday's traffic accident in Westend is called the "Traffic Accident Investigation Unit." The police are investigating the cause of the accident, with a focus on the actions of the 20-year-old BMW driver. The police have also launched an inquiry into the role of the 85-year-old Hyundai driver in the accident.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving, especially during busy periods. The police urge all drivers to remain vigilant and to follow traffic rules to ensure the safety of all road users.
