On September 14, 2025, Paderborn invites residents and visitors to immerse themselves in the city's rich history and ongoing rebuilding efforts. The day's events, themed "WERT-voll" (German for "value of places"), will offer a unique opportunity to discover the value of Paderborn's heritage sites.

One of the highlights of the day is the construction site tour of the Western Paderquell Area rebuilding project. Scheduled for 15:00 and lasting approximately 1 hour, this tour will showcase the progress made in restoring this garden monument from the post-war years, which was severely damaged by a tornado in May 2022, leaving 95% of its historical tree stock destroyed. The meeting point for this tour is at Am Abdinghof 9 (Ehrenhof Abdinghofkirche) 33098 Paderborn.

For those interested, registration is required for the tours organised by the Lower Heritage Authority. You can register at the City of Paderborn/Lower Heritage Authority ([email protected], 05251-88-127927).

In addition to the Western Paderquell Area tour, there will be three tours of Schloss Neuhaus on September 14, 2025, at 11:00, 13:30, and 15:30. Each tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and provides a detailed account of the architectural history of this significant landmark. The meeting point for the Schloss Neuhaus tours is at the Kirchplatz in Schloss Neuhaus at the Red Pump, Schloßstraße/ Corner Residenzstraße.

Registration for the Schloss Neuhaus tours is required via the Lower Heritage Authority's website or 05251-88-127927. For more information, you can contact Mrs. Zacharias (05251 88-16752) or Mr. Günther (05251 88-11856, b.zachariasour websitede, t.guentherour websitede).

The Lower Heritage Authority is using the occasion of the regulation coming into effect to inform about its aims and implementation. A monument zone regulation for Paderborn - Schloss Neuhaus came into effect on August 19, 2025.

For those who prefer a more casual exploration, the Office for Environmental Protection and Green Spaces is offering tours without registration. The meeting point for these tours is also at Am Abdinghof 9 (Ehrenhof Abdinghofkirche) 33098 Paderborn.
