The Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis Police has taken a significant step towards enhancing community safety by joining the "Safe at Home" network. This network, initiated by police authorities and sponsored by Interior Minister Herbert Reul, connects municipalities, trade organisations, companies from various sectors, and the police.
The inaugural meeting of the Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis safety community took place on 22nd July, 2025, at the central building of the police in Ennepetal. Participants included Hanisch Security from Herdecke, F. Lauterbach GmbH from Witten, ME Security GmbH from Witten, Kirsten Huls from the "Safe at Home" network, and Criminal Chief Commissioner Kirsten Gehrisch.
Criminal Councilor Martin Zabek, Director of Criminality, was present at the meeting and emphasised that burglary prevention is a question of the quality of life and the sense of security of the people. The "Safe at Home" network aims to raise awareness about burglary prevention among citizens.
