Finanz Informatik, one of the largest IT service providers in the German financial sector with an estimated revenue of around 2.6 billion euros in 2024, has announced a significant partnership with Nutanix. This collaboration is set to modernize the IT operation within the Sparkassen group over the long term.

The partnership sees Finanz Informatik joining Nutanix's Executive Customer Advisory Board, enabling them to actively shape strategic questions about further development. This strategic move is expected to have a ripple effect on the entire Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, whose digital infrastructure is centrally operated by Finanz Informatik.

The cornerstone of this partnership is built on trust, a sentiment emphasized by Dr. Marcus Schröter, Head of End-2-End Workplace and Chief Representative of Finanz Informatik. Dr. Schröter underscored the partnership's foundation, stating, "We value reliability, security, and a trusting collaboration in our partnerships, particularly as an operator of critical financial infrastructure."

The modernization aims to establish a stable and scalable IT operation, with the Nutanix platform providing a future-proof infrastructure and virtualization platform for Finanz Informatik. This platform is expected to enable efficient and secure operation and the advancement of innovations.

Hyper-converged architectures, which enable software-based bundling of previously separate infrastructure components, will be deployed as part of this partnership. This approach offers more flexible resource allocation, reduced administrative effort, and higher resilience in case of failures.

As part of the migration, Finanz Informatik will replace its existing virtualization platforms and standardize on Nutanix's AHV. This unification is expected to facilitate the use of new technologies, such as container-based applications or AI-driven analytics. Over the next two years, Finanz Informatik will migrate its Windows and Linux workloads to the Nutanix platform.

Nutanix, a provider of hybrid multi-cloud computing, offers businesses a secure, single platform for running applications and AI, and managing data. This partnership signals a strong market presence for Nutanix, as one of the largest and most renowned IT service providers in Germany has placed its trust in them.

Thomas Herrguth, General Manager Germany at Nutanix, expressed pride in the partnership and his commitment to making it a success and creating long-term value. This partnership marks a technological shift towards software-defined platforms that are more automatable and flexibly expandable for Finanz Informatik.

The Nutanix platform is a technologically leading and future-proof infrastructure and virtualization platform that enables both efficient and secure operation and the advancement of innovations. This collaboration between Finanz Informatik and Nutanix is significant for both parties, with the potential to revolutionize the IT landscape within the Sparkassen group and beyond.
