Holy Cross Campus Activities Board Hosts Successful "Big Prize Trivia" Night

The Campus Activities Board (CAB), an entirely student-run organisation at Holy Cross, recently organised a thrilling "Big Prize Trivia" night on November 10th at Crossroads. George Caldwell '24, an active member of the Entertainment Committee, took the reins in organising the event.

Caldwell reported that the event had a good turnout, thanks to the enticing prizes up for grabs. These included a squishmallow stuffed animal, a JBL speaker, a dart board, and some unique lego succulents. However, the identity of the CAB member who hosted the event remains unspecified in the provided search results.

The trivia night consisted of eight rounds of questions on various topics such as movies, music, animals, and the 2000's. Kahoot, an online quizzing service, was used to tally points and keep track of the leaderboard, ensuring a smooth running of the event. Caldwell felt that this method was effective and many participants were familiar with the service.

George Caldwell '24 wasn't the only one basking in the success of the event. CAB member Billy Holmes '25 shared that the karaoke night held the week leading up to Thanksgiving break also had a solid turnout and brought together different friend groups.

The Class of 2027 was welcomed to Holy Cross on August 26 with cheers from orientation leaders and alumni on move-in day. Carly Costaregni '27 expressed her appreciation for the support she received on move-in day.

CAB is always looking for new members, according to co-president Kieran Corcoran '24. He stated that it is never too late to join CAB. Interested individuals can contact them via email at [email protected] or follow them on their Instagram (@HolyCrossCAB).

In addition to the trivia night and karaoke night, the CAB hosted a "Paint Your Own Pottery" Night on March 5th. Organisations and clubs on campus, including the Democratic Futures Forum, the McFarland Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture, and CAB, are preparing for the 2024 election.

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) organises community-building and fun events throughout the year, often involving prizes and food, making Holy Cross a vibrant and engaging community for its students.
