Company director in Gomel region physically assaults employee
A former director of an agricultural enterprise in Belarus has been sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of 16,800 rubles (400 basic units) for physical assaults against her subordinates.
The court's verdict, however, has not yet entered into force. The director, who held a prominent position within the company, was found guilty of using physical force against employees from 2022 to 2024.
The victims of her physical assaults include a tractor driver, a female brigadier, a veterinarian, and the chief accountant. In one instance, she grabbed a tractor driver by his clothing and pushed him until he fell. She also pinned the tractor driver against the wall with a table in the dispatch office and struck him at least twice, causing physical pain and injuries.
In another case, the director grabbed the female brigadier by her clothing and attempted to force silage into her mouth, also striking the subordinate on the head. She also struck the veterinarian on the head in one case and on the back in another.
The unspecified actions by the former director were reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office. Based on the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Amnesty on the Occasion of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War," the director was partially released from the punishment of imprisonment for one year.
