Completion of refurbishment in Mötzingen's town center

In the picturesque town of Möritzingen, a significant transformation has taken place, thanks to the completion of the urban renewal project "Village Core II". This project, funded by the Ministry of Regional Development and Housing, has brought about numerous improvements, enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

The project has modernised social facilities, creating a new care centre with day care, care group apartments, and 12 barrier-free apartments, as well as redesigning playgrounds at Weiher and Kaisergarten streets. The care centre's barrier-free multi-purpose rooms are now used for various events, serving as a bridge between the care centre's residents and the wider community.

The renovation has also resulted in the creation of 59 new apartments and the modernisation of 4 existing ones. Numerous new parking spaces have been added, making it more convenient for residents and visitors.

One of the key focuses of the project was the improvement of public spaces. Visually appealing open spaces have been created in the village centre, with new pathways connecting these areas. The edges of the roads in the village centre have been made safer for all road users, and the through road has been aesthetically and functionally improved.

The traffic situation in Möritzingen has also seen significant improvements. The intersection area in the village centre has been redesigned, making it more efficient and safer. Previously idle areas like the Burggärten and the Lamm area have been utilised in a family-friendly way, adding to the overall vibrancy of the town.

The community hall was comprehensively modernised as part of the project, ensuring it can continue to serve as a hub for local events and gatherings. The urban renewal project has undeniably modernised Möritzingen, making it a more appealing and livable town.

Minister of Regional Development and Housing, Nicole Razavi, expressed her satisfaction with the project's success. She stated, "New housing has been created, and the quality of stay has been improved in Möritzingen." She also expressed her pleasure that their urban funding achieved so much good in Möritzingen.

The urban renewal project in Möritzingen has not only benefited the local community but also the regional construction industry and crafts. For every euro of funding, it has triggered up to eight more euros in follow-up investments, providing a significant boost to the local economy.

As Möritzingen continues to flourish, the urban renewal project "Village Core II" stands as a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together to improve its surroundings.
