Conservatives and Others Criticize Alleged 'Progressive' Modification in Cracker Barrel's Peg Game

In a surprising turn of events, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store has stirred up a bit of a storm with its recent decision to change the rules of its long-standing peg game. The game, a popular time-passer for customers since 1960, has now become a topic of debate on social media.

Sean Davis, CEO of The Federalist, was among the first to voice his disapproval on Twitter, criticizing the new directions for making "dumb people feel better when they do poorly." His sentiment was echoed by Glenn Kessler, who called the change "silly."

Joe from South Valley Sports Cards was also not thrilled with the change, stating that it takes the fun out of the game. Dr. Jamie Jakes and The Voice of the Signal shared similar sentiments, finding the new directions a "good illustration of our rotting, empty culture where we ignore real problems and focus on empty."

On the other hand, some Twitter users found humour in the situation, with jamesmichael joking about the change being "woke." Katie Scarlett expressed her disapproval in a more forceful manner, finding the change to be "the most egnoramous thing I've ever seen."

The new directions, which replace playful insults with encouragement, now read, "leave three or more - no reason to be embarrassed. Try again." However, it seems the change has not inspired the same level of backlash as the 2023 Bud Light controversy.

Cracker Barrel has not yet responded to HuffPost's request for comment regarding Davis' criticism. David Farris, in a separate Twitter post, encouraged support for HuffPost, expressing gratitude for readers and emphasizing the importance of journalism.

As the dust settles, it remains to be seen how Cracker Barrel will respond to the criticism and whether the change will stick. In the meantime, the debate continues on social media, with opinions ranging from outrage to amusement.
