Construction of Commercial Campus in Moabit, Berlin Nearly Finished
The Berlin Decks commercial project in Moabit is in its final phase, marking an exciting development for the district. This ambitious project, spanning around 45,000 square meters, includes four modern new buildings connected to a historic brick building.
The new facade of Berlin Decks features a suspended, ventilated ceramic facade with glazed elements, shaping the appearance of the quarter. The ceramic facade is almost completed, and the external structures of the new buildings are largely finished, with only a few places missing windows.
The focus is currently on access and the design of the outdoor areas, including paths, plazas, and green spaces. The planned inner courtyard with seating areas and direct access to the Spree canal is set to define the campus and provide space for interaction. Work on the outdoor facilities is ongoing.
Sustainability is a central focus of the Berlin Decks project. Green roofs, photovoltaic systems, and rainwater management are key features, demonstrating the developers' commitment to environmental responsibility.
The Berlin Decks project aims to offer spaces for businesses, culture, and gastronomy upon completion. The areas for gastronomy and retail are planned to attract visitors, creating a lively location that combines work, exchange, and culture in close proximity.
Notable tenants confirmed for the project include MBition GmbH, a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz, and the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin, which will move into modern teaching and production spaces by the end of 2025.
The investor group developing the Berlin Decks project is represented by BEOS AG for an investor consortium. The project fits into the developments of Europacity in the south and other projects in Moabit, creating a link between traditionally industrially shaped areas and modern city quarters.
The Berlin Decks project is well-connected to infrastructure, with access to Westhafen and Amrumer StraΓe stations, and nearby city motorway, making it suitable for companies with an international focus. The project aims to achieve DGNB Gold certification, reflecting the developers' high standards for quality and sustainability.
The historic brick building has already been fully modernized and is in use. Open-source mapping data from CARTO CC BY 3.0 OpenStreetMap Sources are used in the project, underscoring the developers' commitment to transparency and collaboration.
As the Berlin Decks project nears completion, Moabit is poised to welcome a vibrant new addition to its urban landscape, offering a unique blend of history, sustainability, and modernity.
