In the heart of Neuwied, a new day centre for homeless people is under construction, marking a significant step forward in addressing the challenges faced by those in difficult life situations. This community project is a collaboration between Caritas, Wirtgen Foundations, and the city portal.

The new building, set to open soon, will greatly enhance the services provided by Caritas's "Schöppche", a community centre that operates on mutual support. The centre will offer additional space, including a large kitchen, sanitary facilities, a clothing room, counseling rooms, and a first aid area.

The "Schöppche" is in need of additional equipment for the coming year. Essential items include robust dishes, a high-quality kitchen machine, computers, plants, picture frames, and other important equipment. Donations are crucial to create an appealing atmosphere inside the centre and to ensure its smooth operation.

Mayor Peter Jung and Caritas Director Eberhard Köhler have emphasized the importance of this project, stating that it is a significant step towards supporting those in need. Daniel Wirtgen Foundations' Foundation Director, Daniel Wichmann, has also expressed his support, stating that every contribution, big or small, helps to give the people who come to the "Schöppche" a perspective and a piece of normality.

Potential supporters can contact Caritas directly for donations and sponsorship opportunities. Ulrike Proft of Caritas can be reached at Proft@caritas-ourwebsite. For those interested in a more direct engagement, a joint on-site meeting with potential sponsors is planned for the beginning of the new year.

This new day centre aims to provide a place of dignity and respect for people in difficult life situations. By supporting this project, we can all contribute to making a positive difference in our community. If you wish to contribute, please consider reaching out to Caritas today.
