Jenoptik Announces New Clean Room Factory in Dresden
Jenoptik, a leading global technology group, has announced plans to build a new factory in Dresden, Germany. The new facility will specialize in the production of sensors for the semiconductor equipment industry.
The CEO of Jenoptik, overseeing this project, is Dr. Stefan Traeger. He is joined on the Jenoptik executive board in 2025 by Dr. Prisca Havranek-Kosicek and Dr. Ralf Kuschnereit.

Jenoptik's production sites for high-precision and micro-optics also include locations in Jena and Triptis, Thuringia, Heerbrugg, Switzerland, Jupiter, Florida, and Huntsville, Alabama, in addition to Dresden. With the new production site, the number of employees in Dresden is expected to increase from around 90 to more than 120.
The topping-out crane, a traditional construction milestone, has been set on the new clean room factory in Dresden. This marks a significant step forward in the construction process.
Production of sensors for the semiconductor equipment industry, among other things, will commence in the Airport Park, Dresden, from 2025. Jenoptik's investment in the new production site in Dresden is over 70 million euros.
