Contest Finals will be held in Dresden from July 31 to August 3.
The city of Dresden is set to host the German Championships 2025 from July 31 to August 3, 2025, with a diverse range of summer sports competing across nine venues.
One of the main competition sites will be the Sportpark Ostra, home to Heinz-Steyer-Stadion, JOYNEXT Arena, Teamsport Arena, and BallsportARENA. The German Team Championships in badminton will take place at the BallsportARENA on Sunday, 3 August. Tickets for this event can be obtained through events.vereinsticket.de, and a donation ticket option is available.
Admission to the stands on Thursday and Friday is free, and tickets for the multi-discipline events and the 5,000 metres are still available for purchase. However, tickets for the athletics competitions at the Heinz-Steyer-Stadion on Saturday have sold out, but some remain for Sunday.
For those who prefer free entertainment, several sports can be watched without a ticket. Breaking, 3x3 basketball, and speed climbing can be enjoyed in front of the Frauenkirche. Canoeing, stand-up paddling in the Hafencity, rowing in the Alberthafen, coastal rowing at the Canaletto view, 7-a-side rugby, Faustball & Wowball, flag football, and lacrosse can be watched in the Teamsport Arena. Archery and the finish line of the triathlon can be viewed in front of the Semperoper.
The Finals Park, located in the Ostra Sports Park, offers many interactive activities for sports enthusiasts.
In addition to the sports venues, other locations such as the Frauenkirche, along the Elbe river (Canaletto view), at the Semperoper, in the Hafencity, and at the Alberthafen will also host various sports events.
It is recommended to travel to the FINALS by bus and train due to traffic disruptions. Theater Square and Augustus Bridge will be temporarily closed on certain days, leading to detours for lines 3, 4, 7, and 9.
Discounted entry tickets are available for children and young people for all ticket categories.
As for the participants, notable rhythmic gymnasts like Darja Varfolomeev and Anastasia Simakova from TSV Schmiden have recently competed internationally and are likely contenders in the 2025 events. Details on other disciplines and the full list of participants have not been disclosed in the available sources.
For those who prefer to watch from the comfort of their homes, ARD and ZDF will broadcast live on TV and in media libraries for all four days of the event.
So, whether you're a sports enthusiast or just looking for a fun day out, the German Championships 2025 in Dresden promises to be an exciting event not to be missed!
