Court Decides Commission Lacked Compliance with Obligations Stipulated in Article 85 (1) of the Treaty.
In a tragic incident that took place on Schlossstraße, a busy road in Düsseldorf, a collision occurred between a Mercedes and an Audi. The accident involved vehicles moving towards the city center, resulting in significant disruption to traffic in the area.
The driver of the Audi, a 46-year-old woman from Düsseldorf, intended to make a quick left turn. However, she pulled out from the right side of the road, directly in the path of a Mercedes being driven by a 55-year-old man from Kaarst. The man was unable to brake in time to avoid the collision.
As a result of the collision, both drivers were involved in a serious incident. The 46-year-old woman required extrication from her damaged vehicle by emergency services and was subsequently taken to a hospital, where she remains in a critical condition. The 55-year-old man, though injured, was able to be treated at the scene and did not require hospitalisation.
Investigations regarding the collision are ongoing, but it is understood that the woman pulled out in front of the man, causing the collision. At this time, there is no information available about the accident investigation director who is conducting the investigation.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to pay close attention to the road and other vehicles at all times. Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragic accident.
