In a significant turn of events, Jason MacBride, a candidate for Ontario County District Attorney, has been reinstated on the November ballot. This decision comes after a series of court rulings in his favour, as well as the restoration of the Truth and Justice ballot line.

The key to MacBride qualifying for the Truth and Justice ballot line was the signature-validating affidavits. The Ontario County Supreme Court's review of these affidavits, which were initially found to be incomplete, determined that dozens of previously discounted signatures were indeed valid. With the added valid signatures, MacBride's petition cleared the legal threshold.

MacBride has been a contender in this election season, successfully defending himself in two court cases. The judge who heard his application to reopen his lawsuit and decided that his candidacy paper for the November elections would be reinstated is Judge Eric May. The court's decision to grant MacBride's motion to reargue was not opposed by either William Hastings nor the Ontario County Board of Elections.

FingerLakes1.com, the region's leading all-digital news publication, reported on the developments. Founded in 1998, FingerLakes1.com has been keeping residents informed for more than two decades. The company offers a news service with a function for readers to send leads to news@their website. They also provide a Morning Edition newsletter to start the day and offer a free app for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad).

This latest development means that MacBride will now appear on the November ballot as both a Republican and an independent candidate for Ontario County District Attorney. Earlier in the election season, MacBride had fended off a challenge to his appearance on the Republican primary ballot.

The news of MacBride's reinstatement on the ballot has been welcomed by many in the region. As the election approaches, residents will have the opportunity to consider MacBride as a candidate for the position of District Attorney.
