Cow ownership dispute intensifies following DNA testing and the demise of one animal

In the heart of Kenya, a dispute that began in August 2020 remains unresolved. The centre of contention? Two uniquely Friesian cows named Ruma and Lelgina. The ownership of these cows has been a subject of contention between Ann Cherotich and Gloria Kandie.

Initially, the dispute was resolved through a DNA test, but the death of one cow, Ruma, has made the resolution uncertain. The Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN) in Germany, the owner of the remaining Friesian cow, Lelgina, is yet to make a claim following Ruma's demise.

The cows, known for their distinctive features, have been at the centre of a heated debate, with smoke, daggers, and secrets being revealed in Ruto's graft war on MPs. The dispute has also attracted the attention of Kenya Mpya leaders, with claims of bribery being levelled against William Ruto regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) is set for a rebirth as the Kenya School of Communication. This development, however, seems to have taken a back seat as the nation grapples with the ongoing dispute.

Elsewhere in the country, coriander farming in Yatta is boosting the livelihoods of local farmers. The farming of this versatile herb has provided an alternative source of income, offering a ray of hope amidst the ongoing dispute.

In a separate incident, the former Laikipia North MP, Mathew Lempurkel, passed away following a road accident. His demise has left a void in the political landscape of the region.

Amidst these events, reports of goonism and thuggery continue to surface, with the State seemingly watching in silence. The nation awaits resolution in these various matters, hoping for a return to peace and prosperity.
